Chiefs S Deon Bush’s second introductory tweet attempt had great timing

Kansas City Chiefs S Deon Bush has shown a knack for great (and comedic) timing in his first week with his new team.

Bush won the day on social media on Wednesday, March 23, sending out an introductory tweet when Chiefs fans were just finding out the news that Tyreek Hill was set to be traded to the Miami Dolphins. Bush had signed with the team earlier that day and wanted to reach out to the fans, but little did he know about the chaos set to ensue. Some of the responses he received from Chiefs Kingdom weren’t the most welcoming, prompting a follow-up tweet.

Now, days later, Bush tried again at sending an introductory tweet to Chiefs fans. His .gif choice shows his hesitation.

The great thing about this tweet is that it too had incredible timing. Moments before the tweet was sent, Chiefs fans had just learned that much-maligned veteran safety Daniel Sorensen had signed a free-agent deal with the New Orleans Saints. Fans called for Sorensen’s benching in 2021 and they’re happy to see him move onto another club.

This time around, Chiefs Kingdom was much more welcoming of their newest safety.

He even managed a response from one of Chiefs Kingdom’s own celebrity fans, who offered some great encouragement.

One of Bush’s new running mates in the secondary even assured him that it’s safe now.
