Super Bowl winner Rashee Rice is facing legal troubles as law enforcement has opened an investigation into an incident where he allegedly struck a photographer at a nightclub in Dallas. This comes on the heels of Rice surrendering to authorities last month for his involvement in a car crash that resulted in multiple injuries and serious charges against him.
The car crash occurred on March 30 when Rice was driving a Lamborghini at a speed of 119 miles per hour, alongside SMU football player Theodore Knox who was driving a Corvette on North Central Expressway in Dallas. Both drivers lost control of their vehicles, leading to a collision with four other vehicles and causing injuries to four individuals.
Lawsuits have been filed against Rice and Knox by the plaintiffs, citing injuries such as trauma to the brain, facial lacerations requiring stitches, contusions, disfigurement, internal bleeding, and other internal and external injuries.
Following the legal proceedings, the NFL may take action against Rice, potentially resulting in a suspension. In the event of a suspension, the Kansas City Chiefs could turn to rookie Xavier Worthy to fill in for Rice. Worthy, who was drafted in the first round of last month's draft, set an NFL Scouting Combine record for the 40-yard dash. Rice, on the other hand, concluded his rookie season with 938 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns.
