The Kansas City Chiefs got some good news during pregame warmups ahead of “Thursday Night Football.”
According to a report from NFL Network’s James Palmer, Chiefs RG Trey Smith will play against the Los Angeles Chargers. Smith suffered an ankle injury during Week 1 against Arizona Cardinals. He was a limited participant in practice on Tuesday and a full participant on Wednesday, but the team listed him as questionable for the game.
Now, we know that he’ll be suiting up and playing for the game.

It’s good that Kansas City has the offensive line at full strength for this game because they’re going against some tough edge rushers in Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack. They’re going to need all the help they can get against those two players.
The Chargers also got some good news with CB J.C. Jackson, who had ankle surgery recently. He was questionable and will be playing his first game of the season according to Palmer.
#chargers J.C. Jackson will play tonight per source. He moved around really well during his workouts this week. A big help vs Patrick Mahomes. Derwin James told with Jackson they can do so much more defensively in terms of mixing things up.

It’s possible that Jackson could be on a pitch count for this game given the turnaround time here. Expect the Chiefs to target him in coverage and test him early on offense.
