Chris Jones said he was a “Chief for life.” Now, he has a new agreement that could help make that happen.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chiefs and Chris Jones have reached an agreement to return to the team. This deal remains one year left, but he is expected to receive multiple incentives to earn considerable money this season, posted Schefter after confirming with his agency Katz Brothers Sports.

During that period, Jones amassed 256 combined tackles, 70 tackles for loss, 67 sacks and 42 passes batted. He’s earned four-straight Pro Bowl selections and a First-Team All-Pro nod in 2022. Jones also played a pivotal role in the Chiefs getting to and winning both Super Bowl LIV and Super Bowl LVII.

The new agreement is unique and may lead to more conversations, but Jones will be back on the field in a Chiefs uniform for now. Jones last signed a four-year deal worth $85 million in July 2020, just beating the deadline to sign franchise-tagged players to a long-term contract.
