Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes impresses in long-drive golf competition

The Kansas City Chiefs open training camp in only a few days as players are taking the remaining time to enjoy life off the gridiron. Patrick Mahomes has kept himself busy off the football field during the offseason with his love for golf and reminded everyone recently that he’s still in a winning mood.

Less than 24 hours after sweeping the ESPY Awards, Mahomes won ‘Best NFL Player,’ ‘Best Male Athlete,’ and the biggest night prize, ‘Best Team,’ with his Chiefs teammates. He was back in competition mode, participating in a Long Drive competition a day ahead of joining Travis Kelce again at the American Century Championship at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, Nevada.

Mahomes gracefully connected on a 317-yard drive during the Korbel Champagne long drive competition on Thursday as he prepares for another title run this weekend. Last year, Mahomes finished 51st in the celebrity golf tournament while Kelce placed 66th as the duo hopes their recent victory against Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in “The Match” will carry over.

The 34th edition of the golf tournament raises funds for local and national charities and will take place from Friday, July 14 through Sunday, July 16, and airs on NBC, Golf Channel, and Peacock.
