The hit Netflix show “Quarterback” gave fans a rare inside look at the lives of three different quarterbacks in the NFL throughout a regular season. Patrick Mahomes starred in the documentary series produced by Peyton Manning that showcases a famous verbal battle between the reigning Most Valuable Player and Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby.
Mahomes’ uncensored conversation with Crosby was one of the show’s most famous moments as it profiled his 2022 season. The chippy play and aggressive nature of Crosby is well documented, and Mahomes made sure to address the trash-talking during his Wednesday press conference.
“I mean, I don’t like playing against him because I know what type of player he is and the mindset he comes in with. But, yeah, I don’t talk to a ton of trash. I just try to stay fired up and go out there and win. And he’s the same way.” said Mahomes, “He wants to win as much as anybody. And that’s why I have so much respect for him. But at the end of the day, we’re competing; that’s what competitors do.”

Crosby is having his best season in the NFL, coming into Week 12 with 10.5 sacks and consistently getting under quarterbacks’ skins. Mahomes, however, doesn’t believe he’s pushing his buttons on purpose with his aggressive play.
“No, I don’t think he’s necessarily trying to. If he’s trying to push buttons, he just plays hard every single snap.” said Mahomes, “And that’s why he’s one of the best players in the NFL.”
