In his first comments since the AFC title game loss, Kansas City Chiefs superstar Chris Jones talked about Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Jones says some of the mishaps that led to that 27-24 overtime win for the Bengals in Kansas City have fueled his entire offseason.
“I missed some of the biggest plays of the game,” Jones said, according to The Athletic’s Nate Taylor. “You use that as motivation the whole offseason. I felt like if I would’ve made those sacks, the game would’ve been different. I take accountability for that. For me, that’s my driving force right now.”
Chalk it up as another interesting example of the target the Bengals have on their backs now going into 2022.
This is far from the first time other teams have brought up the Bengals this year. And quite a few places now try to find the “next Bengals” while pointing to potentially rebounding teams like the New York Jets.
This just comes with the territory after making a trip to the Super Bowl, of course. But based on some of Burrow’s comments, he’s got his team primed to defend this spot, knowing full well guys like Jones want revenge:
