The Kansas City Chiefs placed wide receiver Mecole Hardman on their injured reserve list on Saturday ahead of a Week 12 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders in Sin City. The move came after a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in a Super Bowl LVII rematch that saw Hardman injure his thumb.
News of Hardman’s placement on the injured reserve list broke on Saturday via a statement released on the Chiefs’ social media pages.

The loss of a veteran like Hardman could prove to be a crushing blow to Kansas City’s receiving corps, which needs as much juice as it can get after the Chiefs’ brutal loss to Philadelphia on Monday Night Football in Week 11.
In his absence, other receivers like Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Justin Watson, Rashee Rice, and Skyy Moore will need to step up to provide reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes with reliable targets in the passing game to help lift Kansas City to its eighth win of the 2023 season.
