The Kansas City Chiefs’ offense grew during the regular season’s second half. Turnovers were eliminated, and the team was more efficient in the red zone.
Patrick Mahomes’s play over the season has improved since his slow start. He’s connected more with his young and new receivers while getting better protection on the offensive line. Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy spoke with reporters on Wednesday about his advice or extra words for Mahomes heading into the postseason.
“Don’t change anything. Just keep it going. It’s working pretty good. But in all honesty, he does a great job of balancing. Even going back to the Denver game, he didn’t change anything for him—same thing.” said Nagy. “He’s got to stay in his habit of how he does things, what he looks at, and then again, for him to like, not do too much. Don’t start because what happens is you start chasing ghosts. You see so much that you end up maybe sometimes talking yourself out of something that’s pretty good.”
Kansas City ended the 2024 campaign without committing a turnover over the last seven games. The previous turnover was a Mahomes interception in their Week 11 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
