The Chiefs and the Kansas City community are coming together in the wake of the devastating shooting at Wednesday’s Super Bowl parade, which left one dead and injured 22 more.
It’s a tragedy at a time that should be for celebrating in the city, but the Chiefs are doing their part to give back.
The team has launched “Kansas City Strong,” an emergency fund that supports victims of violence and their families as well as first responders. It will also work toward violence prevention and mental health services.

The fund isn’t all that people involved with the Chiefs organization have done in response to the shooting, either. Taylor Swift donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe supporting the family of Kansas City DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was killed in the shooting.
Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, visited two of the victims in the hospital.
While nothing can erase Wednesday’s tragic events, it’s inspiring to see the Chiefs and the community rally together like this.
