The matchup we seemed destined for in the AFC championship has come to fruition as the Buffalo Bills head to the hostile Arrowhead Stadium environment to take on the Kansas City Chiefs for a spot in the Super Bowl.
The NFL announced the head officials for each of the conference championship games on Sunday, and in the AFC, it will be Clete Blakeman leading the crew.
Blakeman is a seasoned veteran, and this will be his 16th total postseason assignment and third conference championship in the last five years. He’s in his 17th season as an NFL official and was previously the head referee for Super Bowl 50.

The historical precedent would give the Bills a slight edge here, with the Chiefs being just 6-5 under Blakeman with Patrick Mahomes while the Bills are 11-7 all-time.
