The Kansas City Chiefs are 7-2 at their bye week, and just took down the Miami Dolphins, one of the AFC’s top teams, in an international matchup in Frankfurt, Germany.
The resounding win over Miami cemented Kansas City’s spot as the top team in the conference, and according to Pro Football Focus, the Chiefs are the most likely team in the AFC to earn the coveted home-field advantage for the 2023 playoffs.

This tactical edge has become something of an annual tradition for Kansas City and its fans heading into the January elimination games during the Patrick Mahomes era.
The Chiefs have earned the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs in four of Mahomes’ first five seasons under center, and are primed to make that figure five of six if they can finish strong in 2023.
All of Kansas City’s Super Bowl berths came when the Chiefs were the conference’s top seed, so earning home-field advantage is critical to the team’s chances of defending its championship title next February.
