Three murder scenes involving guns were visited by the Merseyside Police chief constable and others today in a bid to reassure frightened residents.
Chief Constable Serena Kennedy went on a "walkabout" around Kingsheath Avenue, Dovecot, scene of the brutal murder of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel on Monday night, along with others including the police and crime commissioner and Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram.
Members of the group then moved on to the scene where Ashley Dale, 28, was shot dead in her own back garden in Leinster Road, Old Swan, in the early hours of Sunday, and finally to the scene where 22-year-old Sam Rimmer was shot dead on Lavrock Bank, Dingle, at around 11.40pm on Tuesday, August 16.

Ms Kennedy said: "People are understandably upset and nervous and this is why I want to provide some reassurance that we are doing everything we can to catch those responsible. Residents need to be able to go about their business and feel safe in their own homes.
"They feel frightened about what's happening but the feedback I have received is that they feel grateful for the additional support and resources we are providing - including a high visibility police presence - along with our colleagues at Liverpool Council and the Community Safety Partnership.
"People are angry this is happening in their communities, where some have lived for many years. We are urging people, if they have information, to come forward and give us names."
Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner Emily Spurrell added: "Police can't solve these problems on their own. We need people to come forward with information."
Cllr Liam Robinson, the council's cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: "It's understandable that people are worried and concerned, and that's the whole reason we're out and about today. We need to bring to justice the wicked individuals involved in these crimes."
