More than 100 jobs are up for grabs at Chester Zoo, which is looking to fill seasonal vacancies for its 2022 season.
The UK’s most visited wildlife charity is hosting its first ever recruitment day, allowing job-seekers to drop in and find out more about the opportunities available. The zoo is offering flexible work ranging from eight to 40 hours per week within its food and beverage, retail, operations and admission teams.
People will also be able to apply for jobs on the day, so the zoo recommends bringing your CV with you. Successful candidates will get a free staff pass and, once they have completed their seasonal contract, will receive a 'raft of free tickets for friends and family to enjoy,' the zoo says.

The roles pay £9.90 an hour and the deadline for applications vary, but all close before the end of April. Gemma Bamford, admissions and membership manager said: “If you’re interested in a career at the zoo, or are looking to enjoy a flexible role around your current lifestyle, then pop along to our open day for a cuppa and a chat with our teams and we’ll take you through all of the exciting positions we have to offer.
“There’re not many places in the world where can you explore a 128 acre zoo and be surrounded by 20,000 incredible animals every day. Where else can you see giraffes, lions and penguins on your lunch break?”
The recruitment information session is scheduled for Wednesday April 27 at the Bembe Coffee Shop at the zoo’s main entrance, (located next to the Asian elephant and eastern black rhino habitats), between 2pm – 8pm. If you'd like to attend the event, then register your interest via the form.
