Cheryl says son is destined for stage career despite wanting him to have ‘normal childhood’

Cheryl has admitted her son Bear is “bursting at the seams” to follow in her and his dad Liam Payne’s musical footsteps.

The singer, 40, welcomed Bear with the former One Direction star, 30, and has chosen to keep the six-year-old out of the public eye.

But despite her attempts, she revealed that Bear is already showing signs that he wants a career in the spotlight during an appearance on BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show with Zoe Ball on Thursday morning.

The former X Factor judge, who was joined by her Girls Aloud bandmates, shared: “The irony of how much I’ve tried for this to not happen.

“He is the one bursting at the seams. He’s just born for it.”

To which bandmate Kimberley Walsh added: “He’s a little performer. He’s just there.”

Her comments comes after the Call My Name hitmaker told British Vogue that she’s hesitant to bring her son out on stage during Girls Aloud’s reunion tour next year as she wants him to “have normal childhood”.

She told the outlet: “The problem is that I want Bear to have a normal childhood. I don’t want people recognising him on the street.”

However, Cheryl revealed that Bear has realised that both of his parents are famous and thinks it’s “pretty cool” that they’re pop stars.

Adding: “But he’s twigged that I’m famous. The other day he said, ‘How lucky am I to have famous parents?’ I said, ‘It doesn’t matter.’

“He goes: ‘Yeah. But it’s pretty cool.’”

Cheryl began dating Liam Payne following her separation from ex-husband Jean Fernandez-Versini ,who she divorced in 2016.

The following year the pair welcomed Bear in 2017. The former couple first met when he was a contestant on The X Factor and she was a judge.
