Fans of Cheryl who were looking forward to seeing her on stage at the West End tonight, were left gutted as the star had to be replaced for the show 2:22 A Ghost Story.
The former Girls Aloud singer landed the role of Jenny back in January this year after taking over from Laura Whitmore.
Many were shocked by her absence on stage but a representative for the singer confirmed to the Mirror that it was a 'pre-agreed day off' announced earlier in the week.
Despite this, fans were still left gutted and took to social media to share their disappointment.
The rep said: "It was a pre-agreed day off, which was announced earlier this week."
The mum-of-one has been highly praised for her performances to date.
The show's website announced that Cheryl wouldn't be performing on March, 19, which happened to be Mother's Day. The statement read: "The producers cannot guarantee the appearance of a particular artist at any performance. Appearance could be subject to many factors including illness and holidays.
"No refunds or exchanges will be offered as a result of a cast member’s unavailability to perform at any performance.
"Please note that Cheryl will not be performing on Sunday 19th March."
Many fans online speculated about Cheryl's absence with some questioning whether it was due to Mother's Day, while others thought it could have been due to son Bear's upcoming sixth birthday.
One user wrote: "I specifically avoided this week as it's Mother's Day and Bear's birthday, didn't want to risk it!"
Another said: "So went to see @222aghoststory today and found out @cherylofficial was off!
While one added: "But fair play to Gemma Yates-Round you did amazing! All cast were outstanding"
One fan later joked that they still managed to see the star - as they posed next to a show poster on the nearby streets. Uploading the pics, the user said: "Still managed to get a pic with @CherylOfficial today!! And found her on some street art by the theatre! @222aghoststory"
Another said: "so you’re telling me i’m on my way to london to see 2:22 and cheryl is apparently having a day off."
