Cheryl 'lands eyewatering £1k per night' for West End stint ahead of theatre debut

Cheryl is reportedly pocketing £1,000 a night for her West End debut in 2:22 A Ghost Story.

The Girls Aloud star, 39, shocked fans when she announced the huge career change, playing the role of Jenny.

Other celebrities who have starred in the successful West End show include Lily Allen, Laura Whitmore and Giovanna Fletcher.

According to an insider, Cheryl is earning £1,000 for every show she does.

She will be playing the leading lady until April of next year.

The former Girls Aloud star will make her West End debut alongside People Just Do Nothing’s Hugo Chegwin as Ben, Horrible Histories actress Louise Ford as Lauren and theatre star Scott Karim as Sam for a 14-week run from January 21 at the Lyric Theatre.

An industry booker told The Sun : "The deal is £100,000 but will also be linked to ticket sales so if she helps shift around 80% of seats then she’ll be entitled to more money on top of that."

Cheryl announced her West End debut to her 3.4 million Instagram followers recently.

Sharing the news, the star gushed: "This is a totally new experience for me.

"I'm so excited to be starring in the west-end thriller @222ghoststory! I will be playing the role of Jenny from January - April!

"I went to see the show with the previous cast and LOVED IT! It is a totally new and exciting experience for me so if you're looking for a fun night out and some entertainment in your new year, tickets are available now."

Love Island's Laura Whitmore congratulated Cheryl on her news, tweeting: "It's the best, you're going to love it!"

While Giovanna, who also starred in the show: "Whoooop! A fresh Jenny dance. Welcome to the family!"

The singer will be walking into the role with a bit of experience on her hands.

Cheryl previously played herself in the Hollywood movie What To Expect When You're Expecting and had a bit part as a ruthless music agent in the 2020 film Four Kids And It.

However, she has big shoes to fill in 2.22 as Lily Allen earned rave reviews and a Best Actress nomination at the Olivier Awards for her portrayal of Jenny in 2021.

The Mirror have contacted Cheryl's representatives for comment.
