This is not a drill: Cher is launching her own gelato range which has been five years in the making and is named Cherlato.
The music icon, 75, took to social media on Sunday to share the news with her delighted fanbase.
“Yep, this is real… I’m launching my gelato… Watch out LA! All started five years ago and now it’s finally HAPPENING. More to come…” she told her 2.6m Instagram followers.
Alongside the caption was a clip showing a rainbow-coloured truck featuring black and white images of Cher tucking into some of the tasty treats.
The words “Cherlato” were emblazoned in blue across the side.
Cher has had other business ventures in the past, including in the fashion and beauty industry, but this is her first foray into the food world.
Not only were her loyal following here for it, with many vowing to travel to Los Angeles in order to support this new chapter, some even suggested potential flavours which were puns on her hit songs.
“Flavours had better be based on song titles!” wrote one follower. “‘I Got Ube Babe’, ‘Believe in Life After Rum’, ‘If I Could Turn Back Lime’, ‘The Scoop Scoop Song (It’s in His Hershey’s Kiss’)’. Best I could come up with at almost 2am.”
“Do you believe in scoop after scoop?” suggested another, referring her song Believe.
