Cheltenham Festival 2025 weather forecast for each day up to Gold Cup

The “greatest show on turf” is back this week, with thousands set to head to the west country for Cheltenham Festival 2025.

There are 28 races to enjoy across the four days from Tuesday to Friday, with the event finishing with the traditional Gold Cup – one of the biggest events in the calendar.

Among the runners and riders for 2025 will be Constitution Hill, widely considered the greatest ever hurdler, whose owner will be looking to win back the Champion Hurdle crown.

But as well as being a top event for betting if you enjoy a flutter on a filly, it is also a chance to show off your outfit (especially on Style Wednesday).

You might be tuning in on TV (with races being broadcast live) but, if you are heading down, here is the weather you can expect.

Cheltenham festival weather forecast for each day

Tuesday

On the first day of races, there will be sunny intervals changing to overcast by lunchtime, according to the Met Office.

“A rather cloudy start, with early rain in the south soon clearing. Some bright or sunny spells developing through the day and staying mostly dry,” the forecast read.

There will be highs of 9°C.

Wednesday

The forecast from Wednesday onwards is a little more hazy, but the Met Office has suggested there will also be highs of 9°C.

“Staying on the cold side, with sunny spells and scattered showers,” a statement read.

Thursday

The early forecast for Thursday suggests it will be 9°C and sunny with some clouds.

Friday

And at this stage of the week, the Met Office has forecast an almost identical outlook for Friday – which is again peaking at 9°C.
