Constitution Hill proved the hype was justified as he cruised home to victory in the Unibet Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
Comfortable throughout, Nico de Boinville kicked for home with two fences to go and blew away the rest of the pack with Irish hope State Man lagging behind in second place by nine lengths.
With the win, the Nicky Henderson trained horse becomes the shortest priced Champion Hurdle winner in history at 4/11. After the race, de Boinville spoke of his pride at taking home the win for owner Michael Buckley.
"What a horse, just absolutely delighted," said de Boinville.
"He had loads left. He's given me a terrific spin round.
"On a personal level, it's been a dream of mine to win the big three so I'm delighted I've achieved it."
In the parade ring after the race, trainer Nicky Henderson heaped enormous praise on the 'extraordinary' Constitution Hill.
The win takes Constitution Hill to six victories with no defeats as his reputation as an all-time great continues to blossom.
