Brentford head of medical Neil Greig has left the club to take on a new role at Chelsea.
Greig, who had been with Brentford since 2010, will become Chelsea Women head of performance support as one of several hires the Blues have made following the appointment of Sonia Bompastor as their new head coach.
“My 14 years with Brentford have been the most rewarding and enjoyable of my career,” said Greig.
“I’d like to place on record my thanks to the outstanding group of medical and performance staff that I’ve worked alongside during my time at the club along with many others, of whom there are too many to mention them all.
“I’d also like to thank Phil Giles and Thomas Frank for all the support they’ve shown me, particularly in the past few weeks as I reached this tough decision.
“I’m excited as to what the next chapter of my career will hold but will always look out for Brentford’s results and wish the club ongoing success.”
Brentford director of football Phil Giles said: “On behalf of everyone at Brentford I’d like to thank Neil for his outstanding contribution to the club. He has played a significant part in getting us to the Premier League and can be proud of his achievements.
“The role to which he is moving at Chelsea Women is a perfect fit for the next stage of Neil’s career, and we wish him well.”
Seb Brown is joining Chelsea as a goalkeeping coach after previously working with the women’s academy.
The former AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper began his coaching career with Hampton & Richmond Borough FC and has also worked with the men’s first-team and academy at Sutton United.
Dan Smith is joining as Brown’s assistant, having last worked as the women’s team goalkeeper coach for Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad.
Jack Stephens is joining as Chelsea from the Irish FA and will become their new opposition analyst.
He has previously worked with Leicester City’s men’s first-team and also FIFA.
Bompastor has taken over from Emma Hayes and arrived at Cobham for her first day on Monday.
