Chelsea vs Leicester City prediction and odds: Tuchel's fringe players could mean an entertaining game

Chelsea go into their penultimate home game of the season with a takeover bid all but confirmed and Champions League football secured for another season. They go into this match without playing for anything now against a Leicester City side who equally have nothing to play for.

The Blues are the favourites at 2/5 with Betfred ahead of their Premier League match with Leicester at 15/2 and a draw is 4/1. The Foxes have not won their final away game in any of their last 13 Premier League campaigns and have to go back to 1997 for their last win which was against Blackburn Rovers away.

With Champions League secured, Chelsea can now rest easy they have achieved the minimum for the Premier League season but will feel frustration on reflection. Thomas Tuchel's side have not been outside the top four all season and were early title contenders having stayed at the top for eight weeks before losing to West Ham United in December.

Injuries to key players did not help matters but they still finish the season in the finals of both domestic competitions as well winners of the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. The Blues may have missed out on domestic success to Liverpool twice but all signs lead to a strong contest next season and Tuchel's side should definitely be involved in that conversation.

For Brendan Rodgers and his side, this has been a season to forget. Despite successive seasons of fighting for Champions League football, the Foxes experienced mid-table mediocrity form all season long with injuries disrupting their flow. They have a chance to go 8th for only the second time this season if they win at Stamford Bridge.
