Chelsea are back in action just one day after England crashed out of the World Cup as attention turns towards preparing for the return of domestic action later this month. Graham Potter's side face Aston Villa in Abu Dhabi in a mid-season friendly after one month without playing.
The Blues lost their last game, a 1-0 defeat against Newcastle in the league, and sit eighth in the table after a sluggish start. They are currently eight points off the top four having played a game less than Tottenham, but face a difficult run of fixtures once the league gets back under way.
With 12 players away at the World Cup from the start, Potter's 25-man squad taken for warm weather training was a mixed group of senior players, injured and recovering players as well as academy prospects too.
