Newcastle United have been praised for their approach to sign Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak. Jason Cundy, of talkSPORT, claimed he wouldn't be unhappy if Chelsea tried to sign the young Swedish international.
The Magpies have had a bid in the region of £59million accepted for Isak with the club in advanced talks. Eddie Howe was not drawn into commenting on the proposed transfer in the aftermath of the win against Tranmere Rovers, claiming his full attention was on preparing for the game.
Newcastle have not hidden their desire to add to their attacking options this summer and the arrival of Isak would signify their intent for the current campaign. Cundy, the former Chelsea defender, has given the move his full endorsement.

He told talkSPORT: "Going back to Isak, the boy they're going to sign now, 22-years of age, the Swedish centre-forward. What a good player he is.
"I have to say now, I would not be unhappy if Chelsea signed him at all. He's a lot of money and had a lot of moves considering his age.
"[He] Hasn't quite done it, I think he's an absolute superstar in waiting. This is a big, bold, move, it's top end. He's worth it in my opinion and this is a proper, proper player.
"Bags of pace - physically he's about six foot four - quick, really quick. Honestly, he's had a tough time, he's had injuries out in Germany but this is a proper player this kid."
