Chelsea have been urged to follow the example of Man City and Arsenal in solving their recent attacking and goalscoring concerns. It comes as the Blues look to overturn their difficult run of form, having picked up only one win in their past 10 Premier League fixtures under Graham Potter.
One positive under the new manager has been the defence, keeping one of the best records at the back in the division. However, their goal scoring record is also one of the worst in the league, showing exactly where the issues in turning results in their favour currently lie.
Potter discussed the dilemma he is facing in finding goals, hinting at the fact that an out and out striker isn't necessarily required.

He told the media before the clash with Tottenham: "It doesn’t matter who scores, the more goalscorers you have in the team the better it is. My job, and we haven’t done as well as we would have liked, is to get the team to attack well, that chances are created from all over the pitch and then you can score goals.
"As it is we’ve made steps into how we play, it’s still not perfect by any stretch. But while you don’t score, and the xG is this and the reality is this, there is always a debate to be had. My focus is on how does the team perform better, how does the team attack better and then with the quality of players we have we will score."
Plenty have discussed the need for the side to find a No. 9 who can score goals, though when they managed that last season with Romelu Lukaku, the move didn't work as planned. For former Chelsea star Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Man City and Arsenal should be examples of how to score goals over the past few seasons.
He said on Sky Sports: "I don’t think the No. 9 position is the problem, even though I was a No. 9. You look at Manchester City last season, they didn’t have a No. 9, and Arsenal this season, they are top of the league and didn’t have a No.9 - the problem is the players around them are not creating enough opportunities."
It remains to be seen how the side will respond to changes in their attacking phases to try and score more goals, but it's clear that they need a spark to change their fortunes.
