Chelsea upset with Thomas Tuchel amid double raid on Blues after sacking

Chelsea are upset with Thomas Tuchel as the German seeks to complete a double raid on his former club to boost his chances of succeeding at Bayern Munich.

Tuchel has replaced Julian Nagelsmann at the Bundesliga giants as they bid to save their season. It is his first management job since being sacked by Chelsea back in September following a disappointing start to the campaign.

And the German has wasted no time in moving to raid his former club as he looks to turn Bayern's fortunes around. His first move has been to try to bring Blues assistant coach Anthony Barry with him to the Allianz Arena.

Chelsea are resisting that though and are holding out for compensation for the highly-rated coach. According to the Telegraph, Barry have been told to 'stay away' from the Blues' Cobham training ground as negotiations over his future take place.

Bayern are thought to have made a compensation offer for Barry, but it falls well short of Chelsea's valuation. Barry is keen to join Tuchel at Bayern, with the German boss hopeful that an agreement can be reached.

The assistant coach is not the only person currently at Stamford Bridge who Tuchel is hoping to bring to Bayern. According to The Times, Bayern are also exploring the possibility of signing Mason Mount.

Mount is set to enter the final year of his contract at Chelsea, with talks over a new deal having broken down. The Blues are hoping to bring in at least £50million for the midfielder, who has twice been named their player of the year.

Tuchel is a huge admirer of Mount, who played a key role in the 2021 Champions League winning-side. The prospect of Mount leaving is increasing, with Bayern set to battle it out with Liverpool for his signature.

New Bayern boss Tuchel has already spoken publicly of his confidence that Barry will move to Germany. But the Telegraph report that those comments have left Chelsea 'disappointed' as negotiations between the clubs continue.

Those ill-feelings could cause problems in the talks, with Bayern still some way from match Chelsea's valuation for Barry. Tuchel will take charge of his first game on Saturday, when Bayern host Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund.

The new Bayern boss led his first training session on Tuesday morning, though only a limited number of the first-team squad were available. And Tuchel is not underestimating the task he is facing.

"The challenge of starting with the match against Dortmund couldn't be greater. It's a massive game for all of us. It's taken on an added edge because of us falling behind in the table and BVB's incredible run," he said.

"It's about generating trust and anticipation, and getting started together. And it's about laying down a first marker on Saturday. The squad is one of the most talented and best squads in Europe. I'm really looking forward to working with this squad."
