Chelsea transfer rumours: Jules Kounde talks, Kepa Arrizabalaga future, Christensen decision

Chelsea will need to recover quickly from their penalty shootout defeat in the Carabao Cup final, with FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League tests right around the corner.

The Blues have endured some difficulties in recent months, ceding ground in the title race and now suffering defeat to Liverpool at Wembley.

That has highlight the need for further additions in the transfer market this summer and a wealth of rumours continue to circulate.

Sevilla's Jules Kounde is a player that remains of significant interest, having been unable to secure a deal last year, and German journalist Florian Plettenberg states that Chelsea are among the clubs to have held talks with his entourage.

Kounde has caught the eye with his displays in Seville, establishing himself as one of the most highly-coveted defenders in world football.

That means Chelsea may face fierce competition in the transfer market, with Real Madrid and Barcelona also said to be in discussions with the Frenchman.

Elsewhere, Chelsea have 'given up' in their quest to retain Andreas Christensen's services and the likelihood of an exit this summer is growing, Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness states.

The Danish defender sees his contract expire this summer and has attracted significant interest, with Bayern Munich and Barcelona vying for his services.

Finally, Goal reports that Chelsea remain confident that there will be suitors in the market for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer despite his poor display in the Carabao Cup final.

Introduced for penalties, the Spaniard failed to save a single one of the 11 he faced before blazing his own attempt over the bar to see Liverpool lift the trophy.
