Chelsea fans will be hoping for a big summer in 2022, with reinforcements needed if they're to challenge for all major trophies next season.
The transfer window opens on July 1, with plenty of world class players set to become available.
Thomas Tuchel will know that he'll need to make adjustments to his squad after seeing his side fall behind Manchester City and Liverpool in the title race.
The Blues look set to lose three defenders with Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta all set to become free agents - with a bunch of centre-backs linked as replacements.
As well as adding defenders, Chelsea will look to bolster their squad depth.
Here are the latest on Chelsea transfer rumours - with two players linked to the club and plans for their big summer acquisition last time out.
Chelsea to hold talks with Real Madrid for Eder Militao
Spanish publication MARCA have reported that Chelsea have identified Eder Militao as a centre-back to come in next season.
The 24-year-old has become a first-choice player for Madrid this season after Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane left the club, after initially having to bide his time following his 2019 arrival from Porto.
But Chelsea are desperate for help at the centre-back position, as previously mentioned.
The report suggests that Madrid are not interested in letting Militao go. However, Real could be forced into a move as they look to add high-calibre players this summer, and could need to free up funds to secure the likes of Kylian Mbappe and/or Erling Haaland.
Militao is also said to be happy at Madrid, but has previously spoken about wanting to play in the Premier League.
Blues turn attention to 24-year-old English defender
Another, much cheaper, option for Chelsea at centre-back could be Wolves' Max Kilman.
According to talkSPORT, Chelsea are considering making a move for the young defender after scouting him for several weeks.
Kilman has had a breakthrough season at Wolves under Bruno Lage - having player every single minute of every game for the side so far this season.
The left-sided centre-back could be a solid option for Tuchel, who will look to continue with his back three which has worked well since joining.
Thomas Tuchel could move on from Romelu Lukaku
Finally, the Express have reported that Tuchel is not afraid to move on from Romelu Lukaku this summer after joining from Inter for £100 million just last year.
Lukaku has been used as a rotational player for Tuchel this season, having had just seven touches against Crystal Palace in 90 minutes this past weekend.
He has scored 10 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions, but has been criticised for his work off-the-ball, as well as being a strange fit for Tuchel's system - with the German opting to use Kai Havertz as a striker ahead of him.
Lukaku spoke openly about wanting to return to Inter, and somewhat regretting his move to Chelsea in January.
Although he's apologised, stating that he loves the club, Tuchel will not be afraid to move the 28-year-old on should bids come in.
