The Blues have brought Kenedy back from loan in an attempt to add some depth, although with the team struggling in the Premier League in recent weeks the Stamford Bridge faithful will be keen to see some reinforcements added to an ailing squad.
Mirror Sport has your latest Chelsea transfer buzz, as two defenders and one forward are linked with the European champions.
Would the Blues be wise to take a chance on Dembele? Let us know in the comments below!
Chelsea make Dembele contact
According to Fabrizio Romano (h/t Managing Barca), the Blues have made contact with the representatives of Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.
It was confirmed on Thursday the Frenchman will leave the Camp Nou this month, having failed to agree terms over a new deal with the Catalan giants.
A number of clubs from across Europe have been linked with the winger, who possesses an abundance of quality but has had his time at Barcelona ruined by a succession of injury problems.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel worked with the forward during their time together at Borussia Dortmund. Nevertheless, given Chelsea's plethora of attacking midfield options it's not completely clear what kind of role he would have in the squad.
Chelsea 'crazy' on De Ligt
According to La Repubblica (h/t Sport Witness ), Chelsea are "willing to go crazy" to sign Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt.
The Dutch international has been linked with a move away from the Turin giants as of late, with the club said to have set his valuation at €65 million (£54 million).
In addition to Chelsea, Bayern Munich are reported to be "at the window" for De Ligt, while Barcelona are also noted as possible suitors.
The La Liga side may reportedly hold an edge in any race for the player provided they can muster the funds to sign him.
However, the European champions are facing up to a defensive reshuffle this summer, with Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen all out of contract as things stand.
Hernandez set for new deal
Reported Chelsea target Theo Hernandez looks set to sign a new contract with AC Milan.
Given Chilwell's injury, the France international has been mentioned as a possible target for the Blues, as he's been one of the most effective attacking wing-backs in European football in recent years.
However, it would appear Hernandez is ready to commit to the project at the San Siro, having joined the club I 2019 after falling out of favour at Real Madrid.
"I'm very happy at Milan, we are discussing the renewal of my contract and things are going very well," he told The Athletic (h/t Fabrizio Romano).
