Here is your Chelsea transfer round-up on Monday, January 9.
Trossard blow
Chelsea have been handed a huge blow to their January transfer window plans, with Graham Potter looking to bolster his frontline. Brighton and Hove Albion CEO Paul Barber has declared that the club have no intention of selling players this month amid the Blues' interest in Leandro Trossard.
Speaking to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs, Barber, revealed that the Seagulls have no plans to conduct business in January. But, the Brighton chief did surrender that movement could happen, claiming "you can never say never about anything in this business."
"We are very realistic we are going to have interest in Alexis, we are going to have interest in Moises, we are going to have interest in Rob Sanchez," Barber said. "We had eight players at the World Cup, more than any other time in the club’s history combined.

"It doesn’t change anything. If it’s right for us, we will do something. If it isn’t right for us or right for our player, we certainly wouldn’t. No plans to do anything in this winter window of any note, but of course you can never say never about anything in this business."
Thuram Arsenal hijack
Todd Boehly looks set to hijack another Arsenal transfer plan as Chelsea consider a move for Borussia Monchengladbach star Marcus Thuram. The 25-year-old forward has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League lately amid an increasingly uncertain future in the Bundesliga.
The striker's impressive displays have brought great interest in his signature, with Arsenal said to have closely monitored his progress. Ahead of the January transfer window, the Gunners were credited with interested in Thuram, according to Milan Live.
The report stated that the Frenchman had been on Mikel Arteta's radar for 'some time now'. Now, fresh reports from Fabrizio Romano outline Chelsea's new-found interest in Thuram - just days after the Blues locked horns with Arsenal for Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk.
The Gunners made their first attempt to sign the Ukrainian less than a week before the January transfer window opened, football.london understands. And, now, the west Londoners are said to be just as eager to sign Mudryk.
According to Romano, the Blues have 'opened talks' to explore a January deal for Thuram, who would be available via a free transfer in the summer if he were to not sign an extension at Borussia-Park. Boehly is set to be up against tough competition for Thuram's signature with 'many top clubs' - like Arsenal - in the race.
Pulisic transfer update
Chelsea star Christian Pulisic could leave the club this month if the Blues acquire a winger in the January transfer window.
Talk of the USMNT star departing Stamford Bridge decreased, however transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has given a new update on Pulisic where a departure looks set to only be sanctioned if Chelsea can bring in a replacement.
"At the moment, there is nothing concrete or advanced," Romano wrote on CaughtOffside. "But I’m told Christian Pulisic could leave the club in January if Chelsea bring in a new winger.
"Of course, it depends on clubs making offers and many other factors. As of now it’s a scenario and not a negotiation."
