Chelsea transfer news and rumours: Kimpembe fee named; £51m Kounde boost; Clauss collision course

Chelsea are preparing to make more splashes in the transfer market after a pair of big deals to open their summer.

Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly have answered Thomas Tuchel’s call for reinforcements but more are wanted by the Blues boss.

Another defender could arrive in the form of Jules Kounde or Presnel Kimpembe.

While, on the flanks, a battle is brewing for another France international, Jonathan Clauss.

Here is your latest update of Chelsea transfer news and rumours...

Presnel Kimpembe

Paris Saint-Germain are willing to do a deal for centre-back Kimpembe for around £50million.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are currently only offering in the region of £40m as talks continue despite Les Parisiens viewing the player as a key part of their squad.

Already, PSG are said to be eyeing his replacement with Goncalo Inacio of Sporting CP on their radar.

Meanwhile, talks are moving forward over a deal for Sevilla defender Kounde as Tuchel looks to replace both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, having landed Koulibaly.

Negotiations are progressing well, as reported by Spanish journalist Manu Sainz, despite Barcelona boss Xavi making his play for Kounde.

The Catalans are said by Marca to have made the Frenchman their key target after signing Robert Lewandowski with Sevilla demanding £51m.

Jonathan Clauss

After Standard Sport reported on the circumstances in which Chelsea would make good on their interest in wing-back Clauss, Marseille have entered the fray.

Lens want £8m for the player and 90min claim Marseille are his ideal destination with the chance to stay in France and play Champions League football.

Sergino Dest of Barcelona is named as an alternative target for both the Blues and Manchester United, should Chelsea let Cesar Azpilicueta leave.
