Chelsea transfer news and rumours: Club record Rafael Leao bid; new Aubameyang offer; Isak latest

Chelsea are set for a sprint finish to the deadline in the final days of the summer transfer window.

A new defender and striker are top priorities for Thomas Tuchel with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Rafael Leao touted as targets up front.

Wesley Fofana continues to be a key name for the Blues along with Harry Maguire, and Chelsea have even been told to hijack a move for Alexander Isak.

Here is your latest update of Chelsea transfer news and rumours...

Rafael Leao

Reports in Italy suggest Chelsea are willing to break their club transfer record to sign AC Milan forward Leao.

A fee of £101million has been mooted by Gazetta dello Sport, via TMW, although a few additional factors must be considered.

Firstly, Milan do not want to sell. Sporting CP are also reportedly owed around £14m by the player after his contract termination n 2018. Finally, Milan also want a fee to make up their 15 per cent sell-on clause with Lille.

Chelsea have launched a fresh bid worth £17million to sign Aubameyang from Barcelona.

According to Sport, this does not include any add-ons or Marcos Alonso, who is wanted by the Catalans, with all sides expecting the deal to go through this month.

However, Barcelona want to bump up the price with the addition of bonuses and Chelsea’s urgent need for a striker is expected to tempt them into doing so for a quick deal. If not, Aubameyang will likely sign late in the window.

In fact, he’s already waved the Camp Nou goobye...

Alexander Isak

Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has urged the Blues to hijack Newcastle’s £60m deal for Swedish striker Isak.

The player is set to arrive on Tyneside soon to complete his move but Cundy told talkSPORT: “The boy they're going to sign now, what a good player. I have to say now, I would not be unhappy if Chelsea signed him at all.

“I think this is a big, bold move, it's top end, he's worth it in my opinion. I think he is a proper, proper player.”
