Chelsea transfer business under the microscope in 'good deal' or 'bad deal'

Todd Boehly's summer overhaul at Chelsea is well underway as the American looks to give Thomas Tuchel a squad capable of competing in the Premier League.

Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Danny Drinkwater and Timo Werner are among the names to have departed Stamford Bridge permanently this summer, while club-record signing Romelu Lukaku rejoined Inter Milan on loan following a disastrous first season back in the capital. Outgoings are not expected to stop there, though.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, Emerson Palmieri, Marcos Alonso, Kenedy, Ethan Ampadu, Billy Gilmour, Ross Barkley, Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Michy Batshuayi all have uncertain futures at Chelsea. It's clear Tuchel and Boehly have some important decisions to make in the remaining weeks of the transfer window.

On the incomings front, Chelsea have been equally as busy. Raheem Sterling joined from Manchester City, Kalidou Koulibaly joined from Napoli and Marc Cucurella joined from Brighton. Wonderkid Carney Chukwuemeka and goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina also arrived from Aston Villa and Chicago Fire respectively, although the shot stopper has been loaned back to the American side until January.

More signings are expected, with the Blues ready to submit a third offer to Leicester City – in the region of £80million – for centre-back Wesley Fofana. Meanwhile, Chelsea remain in talks with Barcelona over a move for Frenkie de Jong and are confident a fee can be agreed, but the main obstacle is still persuading the midfielder to switch to the Premier League.

How do you rate the deals that have been done so far, both incomings and outgoings? Has the money been spent wisely? Have the right players left the club or should more have been done to stop Rudiger, Christensen and Lukaku leaving?

Take part in our transfer window widget below and swipe right and left to rate whether each player on the move is a good or bad deal for Chelsea, and you can explain why you've chosen them in the comments below.
