Chelsea's transfer saga with Bundesliga side RB Leipzig looks almost certain to continue into the 2023 summer transfer window amid Todd Boehly's interest in Josko Gvardiol and Christopher Nkunku.
football.london understands that the Blues were considering making a move for Nkunku in the summer but were put off by the German giants' €100million (£87.6m) asking price. The French forward eventually signed a new deal at the Red Bull Arena, casting doubt over a possible move to west London.
However, it's understood that a pre-contractual agreement is already in place to bring the striker to Stamford Bridge next summer. Recent reports from Fabrizio Romano have backed this up, with suggestions that Chelsea are at the final stage for the deal to be completed.

But it's not just Nkunku that could be making the switch to England. Croatian defender Gvardiol has been identified as a possible reinforcement to Graham Potter's backline following last summer's Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen exits.
Chelsea have some serious negotiations to conduct if they are to complete a good deal for the 20-year-old. The club spent £270 million on new recruits during the summer, with the likes of Wesley Fofana and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arriving from Leicester City and FC Barcelona respectively.
On the same night of his club securing their spot in the Champions League knockout stages, Boehly and Potter may have one eye on Leipzig's game against champions Real Madrid on their way back from Austria. And if they had, they would be arriving back to London with further reason to complete the double deal.
Marco Rose's side were on red-hot form in the opening 45 minutes of their game against Madrid and were two goals ahead in the first 18 minutes thanks to goals from Gvardiol and Nkunku. The defender was in the right place at the right time to head past Thibaut Courtois before Nkunku made the most of a lucky deflection to double the lead with a well-struck strike.
