Chelsea have confirmed that Thiago Silva has been ruled out of this weekend's Premier League clash with Leeds United through injury in a major blow to Graham Potter's side.
Leeds will be looking to do the double over Chelsea this season when they travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon. The Whites ran out 3-0 winners at Elland Road back in August as goals from Brenden Aaronson, Rodrigo and Jack Harrison stunned the visitors at the beginning of the campaign.
Potter's team are in a miserable vein of form and have only won one top-flight game in their last nine league matches. Leeds conversely broke their three-month spell without Premier League victory last weekend, as Junior Firpo's first goal for the club claimed all three points against Southampton during Javi Gracia's first game in charge.

And things have gone from bad to worse for the south London side after Silva went off after just 19 minutes during their 2-0 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday afternoon, with the Chelsea star now being ruled out of the game against the Whites this weekend.
"Having sustained a knee injury during the first half of Sunday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur, Thiago underwent further assessment and a scan on his return to the training centre on Monday," a club statement read.
"Scan results from those assessments have confirmed damage to Thiago’s knee ligaments and he will now work closely with the club’s medical department during his rehabilitation to return to action as soon as possible."
Although no time-scale has been given for the 38-year-old's return to action, it is thought that he will likely to face a three to six week spell on the sidelines.
