USMNT star Weston McKennie has revealed that the meaning behind his celebration with Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic is remaining a secret for now. The pair got to show-off their handshake and gesture against Grenada on Saturday morning as Anthony Hudson's USA side put seven past their opponents.
It leaves USMNT top of their CONCACAF Nations League group and in pole position to qualify for the finals. The 7-1 win also ensured a passage into the Gold Cup for the summer as well as starting off the next chapter for the squad.
With management and directorial decisions still to be made there is continued uncertainty throughout the US Soccer Association but on the field things are going to plan. A star-studded side, even in the absence of captain Tyler Adams, was far too good for Grenada, who saw McKennie and Pulisic both get on the scoresheet in the Caribbean.

McKennie, who moved to the Premier League on loan in January and faced up against Chelsea two weeks ago, has impressed in his brief time in England, forging a positive partnership with Adams in midfield in Yorkshire. In the absence of Adams it was Pulisic that impressed in his wake, taking on the armband.
Three goals in 15 minutes before half time before for the pair - two for McKennie and one for Pulisic - ended the game as a competition but it was the celebration that caught the eye.
After an acrobatic finish from the midfielder, McKennie ran across to find Pulisic before engaging in a planned handshake. They then both made gestures of talking between their hands before finishing with crossed arms.
When asked what the meaning was McKennie refused to give too much away, keeping it as a secret between the two. For now, at least. "To be completely honest we talked about it but we're not there yet ready to share what it means, the former Juventus man said. "It's just an inside thing between us. Maybe if it happens more often then we'll come out and say why."
The smiles and joy between them was a good look though and with the form they're both in for their country the celebration may well be seen quite a bit more and the meaning behind it could follow.
