Chelsea shown how to gift Thomas Tuchel Neymar alternative with £39m Real Madrid transfer lesson

Neymar has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in light of the west London club's takeover. But, Real Madrid have put on a transfer clinic in recent years, showing Todd Boehly how to save a small fortune ahead of the summer window.

The consortium led by the American billionaire, who have agreed a £4.25billion deal to buy the Blues, are expected to 'push for A-list signings' to mark a new era at Stamford Bridge, according to the MailOnline. With the new ownership group eager to bolster the Blues armoury, The Telegraph indicate that, after player sales are taken into account, Thomas Tuchel is set to be gifted £200million to strengthen his side.

And, Neymar has since waltzed back onto Chelsea's radar; GOAL report that Paris Saint-Germain are 'not against selling' the 31-year-old this summer if the 'right bid' arrives their way. The west Londoners have been credited with a long-standing interest in the Brazil international, according to ESPN, but Boehly could save as much as £37million by copying Real Madrid's transfer blueprint.

It's believed that Neymar, who sees his contract at Les Parc des Prince expire in 2017, could be offloaded for as little as £76million, handing the Parisians an eye-watering £122m loss. Although, the quoted fee is thought to be a benchmark sum that club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi will begin negotiations at.

Therefore, should multiple clubs throw their hats in the ring, the aforementioned fee could be pushed higher. This hands Chelsea even more of a reason to go down the 'Vinicius Junior route', if Boehly's consortium are desperate for a player of Neymar's profile.

Real Madrid welcomed Vinicius Jr to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2018 for £38.7million as a rough diamond from Flamengo. While it was a record fee for a player under 19, Los Blancos found an alternative to Neymar after missing out on the winger to PSG, as per SPORT.

With many Chelsea fans seemingly keen for Boehly to welcome the PSG forward to Stamford Bridge this summer, the Blues can copy Real Madrid's test and tried blueprint and delve into the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A market.

Though, regardless of whether Boehly secures a player of Neymar's ilk, Tuchel is keen to undergo a rebuild at Chelsea this summer, with many defenders taking a priority amid the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen. Speaking to football.london, the Blues boss said: "We are rebuilding, not improving the squad. We are rebuilding. This is always challenging, but we are up for the challenge.

"I don't know where we are from day one. What I can promise is that I will be here – if I can promise that – I will be here with full energy and positive energy no matter what. We will still work for Chelsea, and I refuse to think of negative scenarios. We will be competitive, on which level we will see."
