Juventus legend Claudio Marchisio has told his former club that they must not sell Matthijs de Ligt or Federico Chiesa amid interest from Chelsea.
The Blues are currently in the midst of considering defensive recruits ahead of next season, with a number of their current options having uncertain futures.
Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen all see their Chelsea deals expire at the end of the campaign and should the three all exit then that would leave Thomas Tuchel with seriously reduced options going into next season.
As a result, a number of names have been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge including Sevilla’s Jules Kounde and Wesley Fofana of Leicester City.
Another candidate for Chelsea’s defensive vacancy is also thought to be former Ajax star De Ligt, with Juventus thought to be open to selling the Dutchman.
Elsewhere, Italian international Chiesa has also been linked with a move.
However, former Italian international Marchisio has appealed to the Old Lady to retain the talented young duo as they aim to build a team for the future.
Speaking with Gazetta dello Sport, he said: "I think that Juventus must build a solid basis of players, they must do it now so they can’t lose players like Dybala or De Ligt because of their talent and age.
"With Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa, they are the future."
Despite questions over his future in Turin, de Ligt has been a key player for Juventus so far this season.
The 22-year-old has made 26 appearances for the club in all competitions - 25 of those being starts.
He is currently valued at £58milliont by transfermarkt and has two-and-a-half years left to run on his contract with the Serie A giants.
Meanwhile, Chiesa currently has a valuation of £63m and following a bright start to the season, had his campaign cut short by a devastating knee injury.
