Here is your Chelsea morning digest on Saturday, January 29.
Pogba sent Chelsea message
Darren Bent thinks Manchester United star Paul Pogba would be the ideal midfield partner for N'Golo Kante at Chelsea.
Kante is arguably the first name on the team sheet under Thomas Tuchel when fit, with the Frenchman undoubtedly one of the best in the world in his position.
However, finding a consistent partner for him has caused Chelsea some issues at times, but Bent thinks Pogba could be the man to play alongside his French compatriot.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Bent said: "When Paul Pogba plays alongside Kante he looks like a completely different player, if they [Chelsea] were to sign him…wow."
Pogba sees his contract at Old Trafford expire at the end of the season.
Tchouameni transfer edge
Chelsea may hold the edge in the transfer battle between themselves and Real Madrid for the signature of Aurelien Tchouameni.
According to reports from Spain, Los Blancos hold the advantage over the Blues because of their previous communication with the AS Monaco midfielder.
Contrary to that, football.london understands that no club has spent longer pursuing Tchouameni than Chelsea.
A move in the summer is the most likely case for the France international, but there could be plenty of interested parties watching the situation from a distance right now that could indeed become more active at the end of the season.
Dembele competition
Manchester United have reportedly offered Ousmane Dembele £480,000-a-week, with Chelsea also monitoring his situation.
That's according to ABC, who say that United are looking for a new attacker and they feel the France international fits the bill.
football.london understands that the Blues are keeping a close eye on proceedings with Dembele and Barcelona, but with every passing day, it looks less and less likely Chelsea will make a move before the 11pm transfer deadline on Monday.
