Chelsea sent major Jorginho transfer ultimatum as AC Milan facilitate ‘dream’ Italy move

Chelsea have been sent a strong message by the agent of midfielder Jorginho, with it being suggested that a move back to Serie A could be back on the cards should a new contract fail to be agreed with the Blues. The Italian midfielder has been in stunning form over the past 12 months.

He was a key cog in the side that managed to lift the Champions League trophy, whilst he also played a pivotal role in his nation’s Euro 2020 success. Despite all of the positivity surrounding him at Stamford Bridge right now, Jorginho ’s future at Stamford Bridge looks far from secure.

The 30-year-old is out of contract next summer and it has long been rumoured that he could be set for a move back to Italy having previously arrived in west London from Serie A outfit Napoli. His agent Joao Santos has suggested that a switch back to Italy ranks highly in his priority list.

Speaking with Tuttomercatoweb, he said: "For him, playing in Serie A is a dream. His heart is here. Today he can play in 4/5 teams: Milan, Inter, Juve, Rome or Naples "

Now, he has doubled down on those claims by stating that he could be forced to facilitate a switch back to Italy should a new contract from Chelsea not be forthcoming.

He continued: “Chelsea’s philosophy is to do contract renewals at the last minute. The priority is to renew with the Blues, otherwise he will return to Serie A. The desire to come back and play in Italy is always there.”

Worryingly, there already appears to be interest in Jorginho’s signature in Italy. According to CalcioMercato, AC Milan are already considering making a move for the midfielder as they attempt to find a replacement for Barcelona-bound Franck Kessie.

The Ivorian is set to join the Spanish giants on a free transfer at the end of the season. The Rossoneri do have other options in mind though, one particular being Lyon and former Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches.

Since arriving at Stamford Bridge, Jorginho has made 179 appearances for the Blues, 38 of which coming this season. He is currently in the midst of his most prolific season as a Chelsea player having found the net on nine occasions in all competitions.
