Chelsea staff have reportedly been told that the takeover of the club by Todd Boehly's consortium is complete, despite the club not officially announcing the news yet.
Boehly has joined forces with Clearlake Capital and Hansjorg Wys to produce a successful bid as Roman Abramovich's 19-year reign at Stamford Bridge ends. The likes of Steve Pagliuca, Sir Martin Broughton and Sir Jim Ratcliffe were all in the running but it is the LA Dodgers co-owner who has come out on top.
Thomas Tuchel is one of many who will be itching for the new era to begin. In March, Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government for alleged ties to Vladimir Putin, leaving Chelsea unable to negotiate future transfers or contracts. It is one of the factors that lead to Antonio Rudiger's confirmed departure.

Boehly has spent a lot of time in London over the past month, attending multiple games including the final clash of this season against Watford, where he joined in the post-match lap of honour at Stamford Bridge. Transfer plans are already being put in place too with reports suggesting that £200 million will be made available for Tuchel to strengthen this summer.
While there is still no announcement from the club themselves, some may remain uneasy. There have been plenty of twists and turns in the process so far and nobody wants to get ahead of themselves. But according to Goal journalist Nizaar Kinsella, staff at Stamford Bridge have been informed that the takeover is complete and that the formal announcement is all that is left to do.
