Chelsea sale: Roman Abramovich receives 'multiple bids' but £3billion price-tag not yet met

Roman Abramovich has received 'multiple bids' for Chelsea Football Club over the last week, but it is understood his £3billion price-tag has not yet been met.

Abramovich announced last week that he is selling the Blues after a 19-year-long association with the "best interests" of the club behind his decision making.

Since then, a number of parties have expressed their interest in purchasing Chelsea, with some also making offers to the Russian owner, but the billionaire is yet to reach an agreement over the sale of the club.

According to ESPN, Abramovich has received numerous offers for Chelsea already, but none of them match his £3billion valuation of the club.

Interested parties have until March 15 to submit their offers to Raine Group, the organisation in charge of the bidding process.

The report goes on to claim that Todd Boehly and Hansjorg Wyss have linked up and tabled a bid to try and take the advantage in the race to buy the club. However, how much their offer is worth is not public knowledge.

Turkish businessman Muhsin Bayrak recently admitted that his was under £2.5bn, a figure that does not meet Abramovich's valuation. Bayrak, though, is said to still be in talks over a possible purchase of the club.

British property developer Nick Candy is also said to be strongly interested in Chelsea.

As per Sky Sports, a statement from a spokesperson of Candy said: "Mr Candy is actively exploring a number of options for a potential bid for Chelsea.

"Any bid would be made in conjunction with another party and we have serious interest from several international partners.

"Mr Candy has a huge affinity with Chelsea. He has been watching matches at Stamford Bridge since the age of four.

"The club deserves a world-class stadium and infrastructure and Mr Candy's unique expertise and background in real estate would be a hugely valuable asset to delivering his vision."
