Chelsea's next six Premier League fixtures compared to Arsenal, Tottenham and Man Utd

Chelsea will end the weekend in the top six after securing a 2-1 win over West Ham at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. The Blues were looking to improve on their defeat to Southampton in midweek, with Thomas Tuchel calling on his players to be tougher in difficult situations.

They did just that against the Hammers, though they may have done so with a stroke of luck in there too. In a tough test, the west London outfit struggled to get going and would find themselves one goal down just gone the hour mark, with Michail Antonio giving the travelling support something to cheer about.

Substitute Ben Chilwell changed the game for his side though, first finding the back of the net and then assisting Kai Havertz for the winner just minutes from the end. Maxwel Cornet appeared to break the hearts of the home contingent when he smashed home an injury time equaliser, however a controversial VAR decision saw the goal overturned.

It leaves Chelsea fifth - with Manchester United able to leapfrog them with victory over Arsenal on Sunday - with the Blues looking inconsistent with three wins, one draw and two losses in their opening six fixtures. They're not the only side to have suffered with these sorts of results though.

Rivals Liverpool have had a poorer start than many predicted, taking just two wins from their opening six in the Premier League so far. Champions Manchester City have already dropped points on two occasions, the latest being a 1-1 draw away at Aston Villa, once again leaving some unpredictability to the top of the league.

Arsenal's 100% winning run leaves them top of the league and that gap could be extended with victory over Manchester United on Sunday, who themselves are starting to pick up after a sluggish start. Meanwhile, Tottenham appear to be going about their business quietly, yet to taste defeat and sitting third in the division.

All in all, it leaves an unpredictable road ahead, with so many teams dropping points while others get off to better starts than expected.
