Chelsea footballer Moises Caicedo’s £160,000 supercar has been seized by police after he was suspected of driving without a valid licence, according to reports.
The £115 million midfielder was stopped in his Audi RSQ8 last Friday near to the club’s Cobham training ground, The Sun said.
Caicedo could face a fine or a criminal prosecution if it is believed he has broken British driving laws.
Surrey Police said: “A man in his 20s from Cobham was stopped by officers on Fairmile Lane in Cobham on Friday 4 April and found to be driving without a licence.
“The vehicle was seized, and our enquiries are ongoing.”
Caicedo, an Ecuadorian national, moved to the UK in 2021, spending two years playing for Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion.
In 2023, he signed for Chelsea for a British record fee of £115million.
The footballer is with clubmates today in Poland ahead of Chelsea’s UEFA Conference League clash with Legia Warsaw.
The Sun said Chelsea FC did not comment on the incident, other than to say it is a “personal matter”.
Caicedo’s agent Manuel Sierra Camacho also refused to comment.
Driving without a valid licence carried a potential penalty of six penalty points and a maximum £1,000 fine.
