Chelsea's Club World Cup dressing room celebrations uncovered as Mason Mount reveals nicknames

A late Kai Havertz penalty secured Chelsea their first FIFA Club World Cup title on Saturday evening, finally putting the disappointment of 2012 behind them.

Rafael Benitez saw his side beaten by Corinthians 10 years ago, but Thomas Tuchel had better luck against Brazilian opposition this time around, beating Palmeiras 2-1.

Cesar Azpilicueta lifted the trophy in the United Arab Emirates, meaning he had won everything available to win during his time at Chelsea.

The status of the trophy is debated by many, but not by those at the club, with Tuchel confirming after the game that he dedicated the win to Roman Abramovich.

“It is good for him,” the manager told his press conference after the game.

“We met shortly on the pitch after the final and I said ‘congrats’ and he said ‘congrats’ to me. I said, ‘It is for you and it is your club. Your input and passion that made it possible.’ The trophy is for him.”

The celebrations in the dressing room were as noisy and cheerful as those that followed May's Champions League triumph too, as players danced and laughed with the trophy being passed around.

Midfielder Mason Mount was at the thick of the action.

Despite being withdrawn in the first half with an ankle injury - the severity of which is yet to be fully uncovered - Mount was in high spirits after the final whistle.

It is the third trophy of his professional career having won the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup in the previous 12 months.

The 23-year-old gave us a glimpse behind the scenes too when he shared a video on TikTok of his teammates' celebrations.

The short clip included footage of his teammates dancing as well as the nicknames given to each of them.

Titled 'Meet My Friends' we see Antonio Rudiger (nicknamed 'The Mad Man'), Romelu Lukaku ('Big Man'), Jorginho (Papai), and Malang Sarr ('Lil Bro') dancing in the dressing room.

Callum Hudson-Odoi ('Tekky') and Christian Pulisic ('Captain America') also feature before the video ends with a shot of the trophy lift.
