Chelsea receive single injury boost as Graham Potter still without nine stars vs Fulham

Graham Potter has confirmed that Christian Pulisic will be out for two months, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be in the squad to face Fulham. The former Arsenal star missed Chelsea's FA Cup clash against Manchester City with a back issue but is fine to return to the squad for the short trip across west London.

US international Pulisic picked up a knee injury against Pep Guardiola's side in the Premier League last week, and was expected to be out for a few weeks following an initial assessment. The outlook now appears to have worsened for the 24-year-old winger.

Raheem Sterling was injured in the same match, heading off after just two minutes with a hamstring issue. His injury does not appear to be severe as his American teammate's, though Potter was coy on the details. N'Golo Kante remains training alone.

It was not all negative news however as Potter revealed Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ben Chilwell are continuing their good progress on the training pitch, while Reece James has returned to the grass following his setback in the match against Bournemouth upon the Premier League's return.

Potter said in his press conference on Wednesday afternoon: "Pierre is fine and he will be in the squad. Christian [Pulisic] is a couple of months, we think. Raheem is less, hopefully less than that.

“They’re making progress. Ruben [Loftus-Cheek] is getting closer, Ben [Chilwell] is getting closer. Reece [James] was out on the grass today, not training with the team but on his own. N’Golo did his first couple of days out training on his own but there is still a long, long way to go. But it felt more positive. To see the guys out there, it gives everyone a lift.”
