Mauricio Pochettino suffered his first defeat in charge of Chelsea, losing 3-1 away in a dismal performance against 10-man West Ham.
Nayef Aguerd headed in a good James Ward-Prowse freekick to open the scoring but Carney Chukwuemeka equalised with a powerful shot after twisting past midfielder Tomas Soucek inside the box.
Michail Antonio restored the lead after an impressive counterattack which highlighted how Chelsea lost their shape following Chukwuemeka’s withdrawal through injury.
The Hammers comfortably held on despite Aguerd’s 67th-minute red card following a lunge on Nicolas Jackson. British transfer record signing Moises Caicedo gave away a late penalty to allow Lucas Paqueta to seal victory.
Nizaar Kinsella was at the London Stadium witnessing the action.
Robert Sanchez 5
Not particularly at fault for either goal but still beaten twice having made few saves.
Malo Gusto 5
Minimal impact and was unable to match the level set by Reece James against Liverpool last time out.
Axel Disasi 4
Lost his first aerial duel to Kurt Zouma at a set-piece and couldn’t stop Michail Antonio for his match-winning goal.
Thiago Silva 5
Not his usual dominant self as Chelsea’s backline looked unbalanced.
Levi Colwill 5
Looked a bit like a fish out of the water at left-back at times as Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio sought to exploit his positioning.
Enzo Fernandez 5
After his man of the match display, Enzo missed the first penalty of his career in the 43rd minute. He did, however, show off his incredible passing range throughout.
Conor Gallagher 5
Overpowered by Nayef Aguerd at a set-piece for the opening goal and had little impact.
Raheem Sterling 8
An incredible all-action dribbling performance in which he was Chelsea’s main creator and threat. Deserved an assist.
Carney Chukwuemeka 8
Beautifully dropped his shoulder before slamming home his first Chelsea and career goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately left the field with a major-looking knee injury.
Ben Chilwell 5
Missed a header and struggled to be an attacking force on the left wing.
Nicolas Jackson 7
Unlucky not to win an early penalty after being fouled in the box, only for the offside flag to go up. Missed a good headed chance in the 14th minute but got Aguerd sent off.
Substitutes
Moises Caicedo 4

His first time volley going out for a throw in on the 85th minute mark summed up a dismal half.
Noni Madueke 5
Hit the only shot on target for Chelsea in the second half but it was brilliantly saved by Alphonse Areola.
