Chelsea player ratings vs Copenhagen: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has no impact with Trevoh Chalobah uncomfortable

Chelsea earned a rare away win as they beat Copenhagen 2-1 in the Conference League.

The narrow last-16 victory is the first positive result for Enzo Maresca’s side since they got the better of Astana in this competition in December.

Reece James and Enzo Fernandez struck in the second-half, before Gabriel Pereira pulled one back. The job, though, is already nearly done for Chelsea.

Here’s how Enzo Maresca’s side rated in the Danish capital...

Robert Sanchez 6

Made his first European appearance of the season having lost Premier League shirt. Got a hand to Pereira’s powerful header but could not keep it out.

Trevor Chalobah 4

Back after missing Southampton through injury but never looked comfortable at right-back.

Tosin Adarabioyo 6

One vital clearance inside his own six-yard box earlier on and tried to find Palmer with precise passes through the lines.

Benoit Badiashile 6

His first appearance since December following hamstring injury. Lasted 45 minutes and was solid enough.

Malo Gusto 5

Injured in the opening exchanges and played on after treatment but then aggravated issue blocking a cross and forced off.

Reece James 7

Another start in midfield for the captain, who opened the scoring with well-placed strike from range.

Moises Caicedo 6

A surprising starter given recent workload and unsurprisingly taken off at half-time in what seemed a pre-planned move.

Tyrique George 6

Could not get into the game at all during the first-half but switched to the left in the second and made Fernandez’s goal with smart pass.

Cole Palmer 5

First outing in the competition proper but guilty of overplaying in first-half. Went close to ending goal drought with long-range effort but it now stands at eight game.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall 4

Big opportunity for the struggling former Leicester man, but made little impact, albeit asked to play in unfamiliar role.

Shumaira Mheuka 5

A first Chelsea start for 17-year-old striker, who became their youngest ever European starter. Did not quite look ready, though, and was replaced at half-time.

Substitutes

Marc Cucurella (Gusto 25’) 7

On as an early substitute and created James’s opener with pull-back.

Levi Colwill (Badiashile 46’) 5

Another whose introduction appeared pre-planned. Caught under delivery for Pereira header.

Enzo Fernandez (Caicedo 46’) 7

Took his goal nicely to give his side breathing space. Booked.

Christopher Nkunku (Mheuka 46’) 6

Played a part in the build-up to the second, winning the ball and releasing George.

Jadon Sancho (Palmer 72’) N/A

Unused: Jorgensen, Bergstrom, Acheampong, Amougou, Neto.
