Chelsea player ratings vs Boreham Wood with Loftus-Cheek mixed bag as ex-Spurs starlet nets

Eddie Beach

Untested outside of Boreham Wood's penalty that put the home side 1-0 up. Communicated well otherwise, however. 6.

Henry Lawrence

One of the longer outings of the evening and Lawrence was solid throughout on the right side of the back three. Composed and measured. 7.

Matt Miazga

Put a crucial foot in late in the first half as Chelsea came under increasing pressure and generally managed the back three well from the centre. 6.

Baba Rahman

Faced a battle against Boreham Wood forward Tyrone Marsh but settled into it and competed well. Communicated well with Dylan Williams ahead of him. 6.

Dujon Sterling

Ensure he was always an option the right flank and made a number of attacking runs. A shame to see him go off in the first half after picking up a knock. 6.

N'Golo Kante

The Frenchman got the loudest cheer every time he was on the ball and unsurprisingly showed his ability to cover the pitch during his 45 minutes. 6.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Made things look very easy when on the ball and would eat up the field ahead of him when driving with it. In many respects was a cheat code for the Blues. However, the midfielder got caught on his heels when trying to clear a ball after sloppy defending of a cross elsewhere and caught Boreham Wood's attack to give away a penalty. 6.

Dylan Williams

Worked hard up and down the left and looked to push past the Boreham Wood backline. 6.

Ben Elliott

The youngster produced a number of clever touches to keep the ball moving quickly and to move into space. A very impressive 45 minutes. 7.

Jayden Wareham

The former Woking striker isn't afraid to get involved when required and showed good physicality and the ability to hold up the ball. Probably would have preferred to see more time with the ball at his feet in the box. 6

Leo Casteldine

The attacker pounced to net Chelsea's equaliser and moved well in tandem with Elliott in the opening half. 6.

Substitutes

Silko Thomas

The 18-year-old replaced Sterling in the opening half and showed plenty of running and willing to press the opposition in his display. 6.

Sami Tlemcani

The young goalkeeper was almost as untroubled as his teammate between the sticks and could do little against Jacob Mendy Mendy's late strike having saved well from the opposition forward earlier in the match. 6.

Lewis Hall

Was unfortunate not to see his free kick slot in before Jez Davies' second goal and put in a solid display on the left of Chelsea's back three in the second period. 6.

Charlie Webster

It wasn't long before Webster reminded of his passing ability with a pass through the lines to Thomas. Measured if unspectacular. 6.

Xavier Simons

Put a crucial foot in, as Boreham Wood looked set to have an open shot in the Chelsea box, early in the second period. Led the team well from the centre of the pitch. 7.

Jez Davies

A goal certainly doesn't go amiss when you're on trial but it was Davies' spin and strength on the ball ahead of his deflected strike that impressed most on his 45-minute display. A second strike to top things off after Hall's free-kick hit the post - ideal. Worked very hard. 8.

Renaldo Torraj

The other trialist formerly of Spurs showed good ability on the ball and possibly looked better driving from his own half despite his more advanced position. 6

Mason Burstow

The former Charlton striker put in a good shift and showed some good movement along the frontline. Produced a fine finish when he did get his chance from the edge of the box. 7.

Alfie Gilchrist

Slotted in seamlessly during the second half when he replaced Miazga, but didn't have the most time to impress. 6.

Brodi Hughes

A solid outing on the right where he was unfortunate to be punished when he back away from Mendy. 6.

Dion Rankine

Replaced Williams on the left wing for the final stages of the game and had a solid outing. 6.
