Chelsea player ratings as Joao Felix provides classy reminder and Enzo Fernandez produces

Kepa Arrizabalaga - Had a very quiet afternoon before coming clutch and staying big when Michail Antonio had a shot from within the six-yard box. Could do little to prevent a smart finish from former Blue Emerson Palmieri. Produced a phenomenal save from Declan Rice in the final 10 minutes. 7.

Reece James - The 23-year-old should have been more aware of Emerson as the Italian arrived at the back post but produced a goal saving tackle in the 72nd minute with some good awareness. Looked better as the game went on. 6.

Thiago Silva - Fresh from agreeing another contract that will see him stay at Chelsea for another year, Thiago Silva showed some youthful determination to close ground on Said Benrahma to put in an exceptionally timed slide tackle as the West Ham forward approached the Blues' goal. Solid as always. 7.

Benoit Badiashile - The Frenchman quickly showed his ability to play a long pass and for the most part looked comfortable with the physical battle against Antonio. Some moments of wayward passing meant it wasn't his best game but showed good ability to recover. 7.

Marc Cucurella - Played some smart forward passes in the early stages and was resilient in a battle with Antonio but ultimately gave possession away to hand West Ham the ball in the build up to their goal. Not at his best and confined to a limited role. 5.

Enzo Fernandez - The Argentina international showed the ability he could bring going forwards with an exquisite pass into Joao Felix for the opening goal of the match. Perhaps looked more comfortable in those advanced positions with a few uncertain passes in deeper areas. 7.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek - A solid return for the midfielder as he made his first start of the calendar year. Carried the ball forwards well and showed he could mop up possession when required. 6.

Noni Madueke - The former PSV star's first intention always appears to be to take a forward step, a quality Chelsea have often lacked. Was unlucky to see his first half strike saved but could not sustain his threat as the game went on. 6.

Joao Felix - Saw a first goal ruled out for offside before finishing Enzo Fernandez's pass with ease from close range with very accomplished placement into the corner. Not quite as relentless a threat as he was against Fulham but undoubtedly raises Chelsea's level in attacking areas. 7.

Mykhailo Mudryk - Won the ball high up the pitch in the build up to Felix's goal and was unfortunate to see a very classy pass find Kai Havertz in an offside position. The Ukraine international produced a much more energetic performance and drew a number of fouls, though perhaps did not threaten enough before being replaced in the second half. 6.

Kai Havertz - Saw a smart finish ruled out when he strayed offside in the opening half and showed flashes of combining well with Felix. A better outing, but one in which Graham Potter may have hoped his forward would provide more of a consistent threat for the opposition. 6.

Substitutes:

Ben Chilwell - Quickly produced more attacking vigour than Cucurella and delivered a quality ball in the direction of Havertz. 6.

Hakim Ziyech - The Morocco international came on for the final 25 minutes to make his 100th Chelsea appearance. Gifted West Ham a set piece that Tomas Soucek's goal came from, though it was ruled out by VAR for offside. 5.

Mason Mount - Slotted onto the left as Felix retained his position behind Havertz. Showed some real drive to get in the box in the 88th minute and pulled the ball back to a good position but there was no body running onto it. 6.

Conor Gallagher - Looked to have won Chelsea a penalty when his strike his Tomas Soucek's arm but nothing was given by Craig Pawson or the VAR. 6.
